Canopy

That's why our IRA Tree Grant prioritizes environmental justice zones throughout Kansas City.

This helps to bring benefits of trees to neighborhoods that have historically had less tree canopy and have been ignored by other city programs.

So in one of these first videos, Jesus talks about environmental justice, which plays a big factor in how tree planting locations are chosen.

Is that right? And so I kind of wanted to go into a little bit more depth of like how these locations are chosen.

In this video that we did with Hannah, the epidemiologist, she talked a lot about the impacts of public health specifically.

I think the average person maybe doesn't think about a tree as a public health benefit, at least primarily.

So as you guys are moving through these tree plantings and adding to the tree canopy, will there come a time that data is collected about the temps lowering or some concrete information that you can give back to people down the road as to how these trees are positively impacting our community?

There is a website, I believe through KCMO, and we will link that in the show notes.
