Cannibal Plateau

Um, the smoke had luckily stayed further north than where I was for quite some time.

But as I was kinda working my way, uh, east across Cannibal Plateau and eventually La Garita Wilderness, uh, this really thick smoke rolled in.

And the day before I was in Lake City and I picked up an N95 mask knowing that, okay, I probably wanna be safe just in case.

And then I lost it.

He had murdered five sleeping men for their money, butchered their bodies like cattle, smoked their flesh over a pine fire, and feasted on them for nearly two months until the spring sun cleared the low trail.

The site became known as Cannibal Plateau.

For nine long years, Alfred Packer eluded justice, drifting through the boomtowns of the West under the Ailish John Schwartz.

But you can't run from blood that deep, friends.
