Uh, but then people started going through and just talking about what their favorite candies were, and they said one of the w- one of the neighborhood houses gives out Twinkies and Ding Dongs, and that's the most popular house in the Halloween.

Yeah.

So, uh, we have a house in our area that gives out this local, uh, Sarah's Candies, and that is, like, the top dog, uh, for when-

Oh, yeah

... we go.

Everybody lines up, and they wanna get to that.

And ca- cake pops, right? Sarah's Candies and cake pops.

Yeah.

This company went into a giant space.

Candy is a huge market.

There are multiple multi-billion dollar companies that sell candy.

And Tara was an unknown.

Our advantage is that we can see the trends that are coming and how things could be a little bit different.

And we have the flexibility to be able to move quickly and do something that has never been done before.

That's what Tara did with Candy.

And as a result, she walked out with a nine figure check.

This is, of course, a segment where we go over some recent candy news, and it is delivered by a member of the Candy is Dandy family each week.

And it is called...

And exactly 1,000 days later, which I guess is the anniversary of when they got sent home as freshmen, she had a big makeup lab where all these seniors got to make gummy worms from scratch before they graduated.

And I just love that making gummy worms is kind of a prerequisite for graduating in this course, but also how this professor worked behind the scenes to make it happen.

Oh, that's really cool.

All right, so why don't we get into the history of gummy bears? So the story goes back to a gentleman named Hans Riegel, and this comes from Bon Appetit, who wrote a story, sort of a brief history of gummy bears.

And this was such an incredible, unique opportunity to really embed a team with a family of lions for such a long period of time that we could follow and kind of chart the story of a cub on his journey to become a king.

And we were completely in love with this little cub called Keo and completely amazed by his his coming of age story, which no one could have predicted.

We could have written it in a writer's room.

It was all nature and it was just the most beautiful story that unfolded over four years.

So when you picked this lion, I know there was a lot of, you know, you were going with people and getting into the pride.

Okay, we're following these two prides.

And so when you finally landed on Keough, you still only had a 50-50 chance that this was going to come out well for not only for the lion cub, but for your crew in this movie project.

Yeah, absolutely.

It's nice to hear, but Wales, out in the sticks, his Wi-Fi isn't the best, so we don't pick up so much from Freddy.
