It's very interesting to see this packaging because it in fact sends a message and it tells you that they've done their analysis and that it has appeared to Canal Plus that rugby and certainly international rugby along with Formula One are in fact the drivers for premium package subscribers.

So it's not only those, also major tennis and golf events, which are now confined to the premium package, but all of super sport rugby as well.

So suddenly what we are seeing there is that the rugby fan and the Formula One fan are the cash cow for Canal+.

There have been several attempts over the decades to bring a Hawaii Five-0 movie to the big screen, but none came to fruition.

Deadline.com reports today AMC and French broadcaster Canal Plus are going with God after greenlighting the Point Break television series.

This comes after Deadline revealed in December that the Breaking Bad broadcaster was developing a series based on the iconic Patrick Swayze and Keanu Reeves sort of heist thriller.

The series is set in the present day, over 30 years after the events of the film, and centered on a new heist crew which hides the notorious ex-president's gang, while the FBI must rely on a mysterious ex-pro surfer with a checkered mask to infiltrate them.

AMC and its sister streamer AMC Plus will air the series in the US and Canal Plus will air it in France as well as on its pay service across Europe, Africa and Asia while its sister distribution division Studio Canal will distribute it globally.

The eight-part series will go into production early next year.

The original movie, which was directed by Kathryn Bigelow and written by W. Peter Ioffe, starred Reeves' rookie FBI agent Johnny Utah, who infiltrates the ex-presidence.

A lot of that is off of the back of new kind of bundling strategies by operators to bundle in OTT services as part of their pay TV offering.
