Canadian Association of University Teachers

She announced that at an arts faculty council meeting.

The second one was an equity workshop Put on by the Canadian Association of University Teachers.

And Canadian Association of University Teachers, for people who aren't familiar with that organization, it was formed specifically to protect academic freedom in Canada.

And to have this organization putting on an equity workshop where people were being encouraged to put, uh, territorial land acknowledgments on their syllabus.

Um, we were being told to hire on the basis of other things besides, you know, the merit, uh, merit of people.

Um, all sorts of activist kinds of things.

And I thought, "How can, [laughs] how can the Canadian Association of University Teachers be putting forth this argument?" Anyway, that was just the beginning of the institutional takeover by equity, diversity, and inclusion activists.

And the professor, the professors that were being hired at that time too, were, were very different than how they had been hired, you know, at the time I was hired.
