Canada Games Complex

The report highlights progress under the City's 2024-2029 Multi-Year Accessibility Plan, which focuses on identifying, removing, and preventing barriers that can affect residents' ability to access programs, services, and facilities.

This year, accessibility upgrades included new wheelchair accessible fitness equipment at the Canada Games Complex, facility improvements at the Thunder Bay 55 Plus Centre, accessible pathways and playground enhancements in several parks, and upgrades to sidewalks and recreation trails.

The City also continued to invest in staff training and community engagement to help ensure services are welcoming and inclusive for everyone.

These efforts are supported by the Accessibility Advisory Committee, which works closely with city administration and residents to help identify accessibility needs and opportunities for improvement.
