Campbell Flynn

They're still able to be rock stars and they're still able to be a part of an organization that's going to contend for a championship championship.

I think there's no greater example than Campbell Flynn.

You know, Campbell's not starting.

She's in her junior year.

And then, I, I just thought, like, you know, we got to play a bunch of players that night.

I thought Campbell Flynn, I mean, I know Teresa Zeigler had what, I think she was like, 8 for 10 with no errors in the first set.

Yeah.

So obviously she did, she had a big part of like, getting us going.

And I thought Kenna did such a good job for her first college start.

She came in and, you know, we didn't miss a beat with her.

And then, um, you know, Campbell Flynn got in the game.

I thought she set a really, really nice, you know, second and third set.

Um, so that.

The other takeaway was, uh, Campbell Flynn made her debut, and she and Ryann Hunter checked in late in the, I think it was 21-16 or something like that in the first set, and then played the rest of the match.

Um, so they got through the South Dakota match for Bergon, and then gave Campbell her chance to, to run the show, and, uh, sh- she did really well.

Uh, 16 assists, eight digs, two kills, two aces.

Mm

... and the way that, again, these subs went in there a- and performed with their opportunity.

Yeah, and DBK said, "Hey, Campbell Flynn, MVP of that game."

Yeah.

We'll get a big crowd, but I think there's another opportunity to get a lot of depth pieces in, too.

We may get our first Campbell Flynn siding, too.

But the starters will, of course, get in there, start the match off.

But I think looking for a little bit more of the bench to get some action tonight.

Olivia Mok, Lenny Choyboy, um, Bergen Riley, and, and Campbell Flynn, you know? So just- Like getting to see her, getting to see her play last year as a freshman.

Now she's in year two, and, um, she, you know, she was off to a pretty good start to the season, obviously short, short sample and, um, just coming down funky against TCU, unfortunate.

Didn't land on anybody, didn't really land that funny in terms of landing on one leg and just...

We didn't see enough from Nebraska to get over that hump.

And I know Bergon Riley was under the weather, and you give her immense credit for gutting it out because she had to, because Nebraska didn't have another available setter on the roster because Campbell Flynn would have been breaking her pinky into smithereens and shreds if she was trying to set through that with everything that's required of playing the setter position at a top level.

And so I don't think that's a crumble.

I think it's unfortunate.

If you go somewhere, you might not speak the language, you might not know people very well, but she's settling in, that's for sure.

And that is what's so cool is that they can win and be one of the best teams in the country with anyone starting.

Heck, they could win with backup setter Campbell Flynn running the offense.

So that, so they, they are...

You, we say it every year it feels like, but they truly are the best team they've had in a decade, I'd say.

So, uh, will be a fun year for volleyball.

It's, it's alive and well in this state, clearly.

Lauren, you mentioned, uh, you kinda just offhand mentioned Campbell Flynn, but I, it made me wonder, so we, we have a pretty good idea of who's gonna be starting for Nebraska volleyball.

Who are some of the players off the bench that you're excited to see when they get their opportunity to come in, whether they're rotated in or Nebraska takes the first two sets, or however they choose to do it? Is there anybody coming off the bench that you're, you're particularly interested in seeing more of this year?
