Camp X

It does feel odd.

During World War II, Whitby, Ontario was home to Camp X, which was the first ever spy training school in North America.

No shit.

The school opened in December 1941 and closed in April 1944.

So much.

I mean, the fun facts are really getting exciting.

Norman Robertson responded four days later, promising the Canadian government would do everything possible to apprehend Guzenko and even published a fake nationwide bulletin across the country to find him and his family.

They moved the Guzenko family around a series of vacation cottages near Ottawa and ultimately settled them at Camp X, the Allies' top secret spy training school near Whitby, a half hour's drive from Toronto.

Meanwhile, the RCMP identified a number of Soviet agents implicated in the documents and put them under surveillance.

And the Cold War was on.
