Camino del Cid

I can afford the carbs, in fact, because tomorrow I start another bike tour.

I'm going along with a group of Dutch people to report on La Rioja and El Camino del Cid, organized by my friend Raúl at biketourinspain.com, the best place to book a cycling tour around Spain.

We will leave from Bilbao and start cycling in Peña Cerrada, with six days taking us through Spanish wine country and some of the medieval towns on the high Castilian plateau.

With any luck, I'll be tired and riding into Sigüenza by Friday at lunchtime.

But he's part of the Reconquista, the battle to push the Moors back down into Africa and to create a Christian Spain.

So anyway, La Rioja and El Camino del Cid is the bike tour.

I'm gonna be doing about seven days of, you know, pedaling across beautiful and probably hot Spanish landscapes.
