We were just with him and Cameron Hamilton, the new FEMA director, who did a fantastic job of talking to elected officials.

Hamilton said, where are those bottlenecks? I will clear them out.

But that would have never happened without Michael Watley getting their eyes on it and getting them on the ground.

And I mean, I'm not going to throw stones at FEMA, but there was a lot of problems with coordination.

As you both know and everybody knows here, I mean, the director of FEMA, Cam Hamilton, he's a friend.

He's an amazing guy.

He was brought in to correct things, and he went to work immediately and then ended up getting dismissed because of a congressional hearing.

Just about everyone agrees that FEMA maybe isn't as efficient as it could be in processing claims and things like that, and it takes a long time to process claims.

Cameron Hamilton is the recently confirmed administrator at FEMA.

He actually spoke alongside Secretary Mark Wayne Mullen at that roundtable in Omaha, Nebraska, that we heard from earlier.

And he focused specifically on how FEMA is looking to overhaul its entire IT footprint to improve customer service and deal with requests significantly faster.

And so FEMA has recently hired a new CIO.

They have made some changes, obviously, with Cameron Hamilton being recently confirmed.

And that's the first Senate-confirmed FEMA administrator under the second Trump administration.

So at the... headquarters level, FEMA can now kind of move forward with some of those management improvements that they're looking to make.

Dick and I shook hands and spoke briefly at a Orange County event for Cameron Hamilton years ago.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency leader said on Monday that its staff would work to expedite financial assistance to communities around Indiana recovering from recent severe storms and flooding.

FEMA Administrator Cameron Hamilton joined Governor Mike Braun in touring some of the hardest-hit locations in the state after federal major disaster declarations were approved last week for 21 counties.

Hamilton and other federal and state officials viewed a four-lane bridge in Carmel that was destroyed by White River floodwaters before traveling to Gary and Connersville to inspect damages in those areas.

Hamilton told reporters in Carmel that his goal was to understand the magnitude of the state's damage and make sure sufficient assistance is provided.
