Um, you know, their theology may not be close enough to allow that to happen, I don't know.

But what's weird here is he's responding to Cameron Bertuzzi.

Now, we respond to Cameron Bertuzzi fairly regularly.

Um, convert to Roman Catholicism.

Uh, Protestant who didn't know why he was a Protestant.

Hayden Carroll, who is LDS, and remember when we watched that, um, debate that took place last Christmas up in Utah, um, one of the things I pointed out and criticized both sides for in that debate was the actual LDS doctrine of the Great Apostasy really wasn't presented.

Um, anybody who reads LDS history, or at least LDS theology up until the modern wishy-washy period, um, knows that the fundamental assertion of Mormonism has been that the authority of the church was lost through the great apostasy and the loss of the Aaronic and Melchizedek priesthoods, and this is why Peter, James, and John, John the Baptist had to return and restore the priesthoods, and only the LDS church has the priesthoods, and all the rest of this stuff.

That didn't even figure in that debate, and here Hayden Carroll is responding to Cameron Bertuzzi, and the whole response never mentions Melchizedek or Aaronic priesthoods, priesthood authorities.

They will, they will hunger for that anti- There's been a hunger lately just for antiquity in general, and those who can offer a sort of timeless and, um, sure source of history and orthodoxy, uh, will be just been more attractive to people.

So, um, you know, like, people who follow Matt Fradd will have heard about Cameron Bertu- I mean, people who follow Cameron Bertuzzi will have heard about Cameron Bertuzzi, uh, being received into Catholic communion, and, like, kind of there are just a few big, um, kind of conversions or receptions into c- into full communion in this space over the course of the past, uh, few years.

But you also have now, it seems in the ecosystem...

Like, within this o- ecosystem now, there are just, there are arguments in every imaginable direction.

Last time you were on my show, you were debating Father Gregory Pine on divine simplicity.

You come on as an atheist agnostic, and then a couple of months ago, I get a call from our mutual friend, Cameron Bertuzzi.

What happened?

What happened? [laughs]

So anyway, you come on as a atheist agnostic and debate Father Pine.

You did really well.

And then a couple of months ago, I get a call from our mutual friend, Cameron Bertuzzi, and he's like, "Uh, so Josh Schmid just converted to Catholicism."

[laughs]

Like, all right, okay, cool.

We got Jason Williams here from Rexburg, Idaho, with a question for Cameron Bertuzzi.
