I didn't see the growth I wanted as fast as I wanted it, and I was getting down on myself and beginning to doubt my abilities and just out of sorts.

And so I made an appointment with a wonderful mentor, Dr. Ezra Ellis, who lived across the Columbia River in Camas, Washington, and I went up there to see him.

And he'd been a real influence in me many times.

And I shared with him, after he greeted me enthusiastically and after we chatted, I shared with him, I confided that I was kind of down and things weren't happening the way I wanted them to.
