And as we look at this news, Cam, what's the reaction from MPC of this announcement, and what truly does it entail?

Yeah, we're very happy with this announcement.

Glad that it came out.

If you recall back, we talked about this a lot, Lane, and if you recall back, it was nearly five years ago when Potato Wart, it really started to expand on Prince Edward Island, and that was when APHIS decided to shut down all imports from Prince Edward Island of potatoes.

Um, they wanted to get a handle on what was going on.

Clearly it was not good.

Whatever was happening was not good.

How do these new regulations address the vulnerabilities of this disease being in soil, but maybe not being active currently or being identified through testing?

Yeah, hopefully we're getting to a better place on this one, Jesse.

We've talked a lot about this.

Unfortunately, our colleagues in Canada in one specific production area on Prince Edward Island, they have been dealing with one of the worst diseases you can get in potatoes.

It's called potato wart, highly destructive.

Once it gets into your production areas, incredibly difficult to get it out.

They have been suffering from this for well over 20 years now.

Wow.

How did the dietary guidelines and some of the recommendations that are coming from the Maha movement toward whole food and healthy products, where did potatoes line up in this new list of information today? that's coming from government

well we were very happy when the dietary guidelines came out there was a a whole potato was right there in the center of that infographic that was gonna inform consumers and school kids it was a great thing and quite a change from if you go back a few administrations ago there was a real push to push potatoes out of things like the school breakfast program, school lunch program, a lot of the federal feeding programs.

There was a concerted effort to limit potatoes in any form in those programs and in the recommendations that were coming from federal governments.

things have changed a great deal.

And we're happy about that in the dietary guidelines.

We are watching, as you asked about MAHA, there are other decisions that are going to come during this Maha process, which we are keeping a very close eye on.

And we want to make sure that things that are as simple to produce as French fries, which are in their most basic form are effectively three ingredients, potato, it's oil, and it's Salt, potato chips, the same way.
