JJ CooperHOST

Again, Caden Scarborough's another, uh, you know, one in this range who was available.
JJ CooperHOST
55:45
Um, but, uh, Jamie Arnold and I think that might be Johnny King, Cam Caminiti, and I think that is it.
JJ CooperHOST
55:55
So who else were you all feeling like, "Okay, if I need to, I'll take so and so"? Jeff.
Geoff PontesHOST
56:02
Um, toward the back end, I mean, I panicked a little bit and took Seibert, um, and was b- like between him and Graybeal.
JJ CooperHOST
57:09
Ian, were there any non top 51 through 100 guys that you would consider or would, you know, not have been opposed to having?
Ian CundallHOST
57:16
I, [clears throat] I think the issue with a lot of these guys is they're either probably relievers or they lack proximity.
Ian CundallHOST
57:22
Um, I, I thought Cam Caminiti was one I did consider just 'cause I, I don't think he'll be up next season, but I, he's probably the one I have the most confidence as a starter of this group, uh, of the undrafted guys.
Ian CundallHOST
57:33
Um, so I, I, I considered him.
Parker HeyserPANELIST

Tate Southesine, for one.
Parker HeyserPANELIST

Cam Caminiti last year, really loved his game.
Parker HeyserPANELIST

Yeah, I think we have a better farm system now than what we had a few years ago, and I'm excited to see us start churning out this talent.
Eli SussmanHOST
26:23
Kevin, from your perspective, I know you chatted with a few of them.
Ken AndersonHOST
12:07
So I'm thinking, before you talk about how well Chris Sale threw, if Chris Sale retires, it might be about time that Cam, Caminiti starts.
Ken AndersonHOST
12:16
Maybe Cam Caminiti can wear 51 and we start another trend.
Ken AndersonHOST
12:19
What do you think, Ryan?
RyanHOST
12:21
I, uh, I...
Lindsay CrosbyHOST
36:20
All right.
Lindsay CrosbyHOST
36:21
The, the Braves prospect composite, sorry, has him as the second best prospect, pitching prospect in the system I think Taylor specifically had him as the third best pitching prospect behind Cam Caminiti and Owen Murphy.
Lindsay CrosbyHOST
36:40
But he is another guy that, stop me if you've heard this before, he missed some time.
Lindsay CrosbyHOST
36:48
He debuted in May in the complex on rehab.
Lindsay CrosbyHOST

And Atlanta's not sending...
Lindsay CrosbyHOST
40:38
Atlanta isn't sending a Cam Caminiti or any of, or a Luke Sonardi like that.
Lindsay CrosbyHOST
40:43
They are sending Briggs McKenzie though.
Lindsay CrosbyHOST
40:45
We had him as our second, the Braves prospect composite, sorry, has him as the second best prospect, pitching prospect in the system.
Lindsay CrosbyHOST
40:57
I think Taylor specifically had him as the third best pitching prospect behind Cam Caminiti and Owen Murphy.
Lindsay CrosbyHOST

But he is another guy that, stop me if you've heard this before, he missed some time.

has done he fought through injury he worked extremely hard he put in exactly what what anyone has asked of him and so honestly it becomes a point where what do you have to do to write to by david and and for me at this point if you can't retain him and find a spot in the 40 man which is going to become you know do you can you use a first base dh another first base dh on your 40 man roster it just becomes a very difficult decision and very difficult uh thing to do so honestly it makes the most sense to me leave him unprotected let him find another another chance in another a different organization and eventually you know if the team keeps that player on then uh they they complete a trade with the with the organization for that player so that's kind of how i see things going i thought maybe he might have a chance in september just to show the braves what he's got uh unfortunately they decided not to and like you said they went with kiersey so uh it seems right now that his time in atlanta might be coming up but again this is what a way if it does end right now what a way to end he's just been absolutely hammering the crap out of the ball barreling everything and hitting everything as far as he can so kudos to david mccabe for really like going through a lot it's not typical you have tommy john as a positional player and then and rehabbing from that and how it affects your swing so kudos to him for overcoming all of that and kind of reestablishing himself as a power hitting prospect.
BenHOST
21:11
So moving on to Columbus, Cam Caminiti night, we had lost Columbus lost one to six.
BenHOST
21:19
Cam threw six innings with three hits, three walks, one run, four Ks, and John Heal went one for three with a walk.
BenHOST
21:25
Those are pretty much the only highlights.
Gaurav VedakGUEST
24:14
They want to see even more.
Gaurav VedakGUEST
24:16
They want to see the eight innings, you know, two hits, one earned run, one walk, nine strikeout type of deal.
Gaurav VedakGUEST
24:22
But what Cam Caminiti has done a fantastic job is sometimes when he's realized he doesn't have the mechanics, when he doesn't have his best stuff, he's able to now pitch to contact and pitch to weak contact at that too, which is a huge step from two years ago.
Gaurav VedakGUEST
24:36
So it's what we've seen as a process taken over the past, you know, two years to get to where he is now.
