Calum Marsh

Pierre, and this is episode 187 of The Adult Education Podcast.

Today, we're gonna be diving into the world of reality TV with our guest, journalist and author, Calum Marsh.

[gentle music] Everyone's got a favorite reality show at this point, right? It's also possible that some of you have given up on the genre.

I mean, I'll be honest, I never really got into it in the first place.

I mean, Survivor is on its 51st season, The Bachelor getting ready for season 30.

Even my favorite, The Challenge, is currently running season 42, and I didn't even mention shows like The Housewives franchise.

[laughs] Even though millions of people tune into their favorite reality shows week to week, how much do we know about the stuff that goes on behind the scenes? What do we really know about how the shows are produced, edited, and manipulated to give us a polished, finished product? Journalist and author Calum Marsh did a deep dive into the world of reality TV.

He spoke with camera operators, producers, cast members, and more to give us a great look behind the curtain.
