Calistoga

So I was like, I could have driven back through Sonoma to go up.

I'm like, you know what? I'm going to drive all the way to Calistoga and over.

Yeah.

That's a great, that's a great drive.

So we unpack those on the call and it's a weekly call, whatever.

So because it's the birthday of her business, she decided to host a dinner in Calistoga, um, which is Northern California, very near Napa, um, for all of us to come if we wanted and then like have like sort of this what I was thinking of as an enlightenment dinner, which is basically like a share circle.

OK.

And this is very all very new to me, a very new world to me.

Okay.

So yada, yada, yada.

She has us out to Calistoga, which is beautiful.

If you ever get the chance to go, it's so cool.

And so it grew and grew until the summit was shut out of view from the valley, and over the valley itself was an ever-extended canopy, opaque and gray.

At Calistoga, which lies near the head of the valley and the foot of the mountain, there were a starless night and a sunless morning.

The fog, sinking into the valley, had reached southward, swallowing up ranch after ranch, until it had blotted out the town of St. Helena, nine miles away.

The dust in the road was laid.

Birds sat silent in their coverts.

The morning light was wan and ghastly, with neither color nor fire.

The two men left the town of St. Helena at the first glimmer of dawn and walked along the road northward up the valley toward Calistoga.

They carried guns on their shoulders, yet no one having knowledge of such matters could have mistaken them for hunters of bird or beast.

I feel like I have.

Like, Calistoga.

But maybe not.

So one of the best, one of the best scenic drives you could ever take is start here in Napa.

Mm-hmm.

Drive all the way up to Calistoga.

Mm.

So, yeah, take take the election off and and take a nice rest.

Speaking of taking the election off up in Calistoga, if you folks are which I for the longest

time just thought was a kind of overpriced water, but it turns out to be a place.

well the water is from calistoga right from the top but that's all we know about it pretty much is the the geysers and the the the spring water um so calistoga is an actual city um in northern california i think even north of napa and they've decided to cancel their elections this or at least their local elections this fall because no one seems to want to run for office wouldn't you know i don't know if that has to do with calistoga or is the general malaise around elected election office but um we're going to find out more about what's going on from kpix

The decision is raising questions about election fatigue.

The city of Calistoga is a tourist town, but it's been pretty quiet lately.

And not just here, but at City Hall as well.

Yeah, it was a good team.

And shout out to Calistoga's own Dick Vermeule, friend of the program.

But so when they came back, I was kind of like, well, yeah, so I haven't.

But I got to say, seeing them this morning on my algorithm, I was like, yeah, like you guys.
