California Schemin'

He's gonna come on out here, um, and have a fun conversation with us, um, in just about 20 minutes time.

He's got his new movie called California Schemin'.

Uh, we've got a clip from it, and it's a fun, fun film based on an outrageous true story.

Uh, he'll be coming out here in just about 20 minutes time.

Understood.

Um, last one for you.

Other than California Scheming, which is, again, a directorial debut, I'm sure you're very proud of that-

Oh, yeah

Brother Joseph Again, 28.

Uh, California Schemin', 35.

My Undesirable Friend Part Two.

I'm not gonna make the obvious joke there.

...

California Schemin', uh, made 18 grand-

True

... on five screens.

It is playing at, uh, Festival du Nu- du Nouveau Cinema in Montreal tonight at 9:00 PM.

To get tickets and more information, go to nouveaucinema.ca. Um, we've also got a movie review coming your way.

California Scheming is playing in select cities.

Uh, we already got a review from Alex K, who's written in and says, "Geeks, my early review, enjoyed California Scheming.

Funny.

Thanks." Well, thank you for that very succinct review, Alex.

In just a minute you're gonna get to hear an interview I did last week with Doug Jones, of course he's been in so many things, and Ivana Baquero, who also has been in a bunch of things.

But together they were in Pan's Labyrinth, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary.

Hey, thanks for coming back to the conversation.

Let's get back into that talk with Samuel Bottomley from the movie California Schemin'.

Are you glad you do a movie like this? Because it really seems like that we are screaming for a new age of music genre and, and this film right here opens up that door to get us in sight as well as sound.

And so you're covering two different senses there.

It's James McAvoy's directorial debut.

Have you heard of this movie called California Scheming?

No, I don't think I have.

It's based on a true story.

I'm down to watch.

What's it called again?

Calif- California Scheming.

California Scheming.

For a few minutes, she can do exactly what she believes she can do.

You want someone to hire her, and you want her to show up tomorrow.

Our second indie film in theaters this week is California Scheming.

Directed by James McAvoy, this is the true story of Gavin Bain and Billy Boyd, two rappers from Dundee, who discover that being Scottish is apparently a problem for the music industry.

Their solution is to become American.
