We have Sam Chung with us from the California Life Sciences Association, obviously a California-based organization representing the life science industry, obviously one of the state's most precious economic centers.

They issued a very, very important statement yesterday.

Sam and I are going to explore that a little bit, what it means.

really, that, look, we have on the floor at this conference, we have people from Abu Dhabi, we have people from Saudi Arabia, we have people from Jordan, United Kingdom, Ireland, Scotland, Germany, France, all of these countries are, their trade associations are here, they're looking for partnerships, they're looking for companies to make a move in the United States to plant themselves elsewhere.

Your statement actually dealt with one very powerful nation, that makes long-term investments, is very interested in the sciences, China.

And if I understand correctly, the California Life Sciences Association issued a very, I would say, clear counsel to people here that, as you mentioned, our leadership in California and the United States is not guaranteed.

that other countries are now understanding, particularly in the age of biotechnology, where you don't need vast manufacturing facilities.
