California Dreamin'

You're a drop kick back on the waterbed.

Light a little bit of incense, maybe something else to get you dreaming too there, huh? That was California Dreamin', by the way.

The Mamas and The Papas from 1966, peaked at number four.

Oh, man.

We are coming to you from the YMCA-like digs of the WKXL studios here in Concord.

Dreaming.

Doing a lot of dreaming.

All right, coming up next, Love and Spoonful.

He started playing loud electric guitar on the raggedy flurry guitar with Crazy Horse.

And then we got one of the McPoppers with California Dreaming.

And Jen and Michelle, the lit members of the band, wrote the song.

It's all the way back in 1963 while living in a cold New York City winter.

And Rory had gone off with the show band to London for a while, so, so I nicked Rory's singles, and I thought, oh, my God, I can't, I'll have to go out and start buying.

And I got a little budget, so, and it was California Dreaming by The Mamas & Papas.

Let's hear it.

All the leaves are brown.

Question one.

Which group recorded the 1965 classic California Dreaming? Question two.

Which Dutch band recorded the 1973 driving classic Radar Love? Question three.

Which American singer released Free Falling in 1989? Question four.

That's possible.

So, question one.

We asked which group recorded the 1965 classic California Dreaming? That

1964-1965 classic was by the Mommas and the Poppers.

And around this time of year, you know, when it starts to get a little bit colder, it starts to get a little bit...

Doing a little California Dreamin' on you.

He's doing a little bit of California Dreamin' with the mamas and the papas.

Which, wouldn't you know it, is another example of a good harmony.

Oh, my God.

I'm such a winner today.

I'm such a winner today.

On a winter's day If I didn't tell her I didn't care On such a winter's day California dreamin' On such a winter's day California dreamin' On such a winter's day

It's not

California Dreamin'.

No, that did not hit number one.

You said we're staying on Monday? Yeah.

From the Mamas and Papas.

That's not on- California Dreamin'.

How's that not on...

What? 'Cause that's California Dreamin'.

Yeah, but the leaves.

That's not Autumn Dreamin'.

you know stage of the film so i do think this is a perfect time to bring up this movie's soundtrack oh yeah How are you feeling about that? Because I personally, I enjoyed each individual song of this soundtrack.

And I want to make clear to the audience that there are a few songs here like California Dreamin' and Dreams by the Cranberries.

Good songs.

I enjoy them.

She was actually the one who was singing the cover of the Cranberries song throughout this movie because it was done in Mandarin or Cantonese, whichever one.

Yeah.

California Dreamin' wasn't, though.

That was just the regular English version.

But let's hear who those artists were.

Starting here with question number one, it's California Dreamin' from the Mamas and the Papas.

California

Dreamin' on such a winter's day.
