Calgary Dinos women's basketball

Now let's start from the women's side.

On the women's side, University of Calgary is a team that are under the microscope.

They lost to UBCO by 6 and came back and beat Acadia by 10 and then lost to Windsor by 21. which was a score was a 78 to 57.

The final result is the one that stands out because Calgary is coming off a TLS championship.

And once a program reaches that level, the expectation naturally change.

Well, to give them a credit, new roster, new coaching staff.

So one weekend should not become some kind of a final judgment.

but a defending conference champion losing by 21 at home is still something worth paying attention to.

That matters because this hasn't been the recent profile of this program.

This weekend at the Calgary Cup, they added three more wins.

The UBCO beat Calgary by six, Windsor by 15, and Acadia against Acadia by 24.

That's not an isolated result, everyone.

That's a pattern.

The Calgary win was a grind.

UBCO shot poorly, went through a five-point third quarter, lost to the lead, and still found a way to finish.

The Windsor game was much more convincing.

And St. Mary's beat Ottawa, which is another interesting game, by 27.

And last night at the Calgary Cup, Windsor edge Acadia by three.

And then there were two more games, actually, I'm going to talk about.

I'm going to start talking about the UNB-Guelph game.

There's a difference between continuing to compete properly... and simply expanding a margin because of the opportunities there.

The final score alone doesn't tell us how UNB managed that situation, so conclusions about intent would be unfair, but 65 points win is the type of exhibition results that should create a conversation about competitiveness, development, respect, and professionalism from both batches.

Now, let's get back to the biggest story from last night's exhibition games, which happened in Calgary Cup, in Calgary.

UBCO walked into Jack Simpson Gym and beat Calgary by 6, 58 to 52.
