So the plant this week, our softy or our indoor plant this week, I should say, Calathea Bella Network.

And this is just one of the most amazing little foliage plants you would see.

It looks like, I said to Wayne before, it looks like, You're on the space shuttle and you're looking down at a rice field in the middle of Thailand somewhere.

It's a funny thing with indoor plants.

You can feed them thinking you want to make them grow, but half the time you feed them too much, they'll grow too much, and you've got to do too much work.

So that's our little softy plant of the week is Calathea Bella Network.

So have a look.

But eventually you do wanna take them in.

The ones that you want to take in first are those really kind of tender tropicals, so things like a Goeppertia, Calathea, these prayer plants.

They are quite a lot more sensitive.

They like the high humidity and warmer temperatures, and they don't need such strong light as some of those others, so they would probably rather come in sooner rather than later.

And, uh, there's thousands of cultivars, uh, so it gives you a very good chance of getting the color in which you might want, as well as single, double, and, uh, bicolor blooms.

[smacks lips] Another one that's good for low light, and I had one of these when I worked in my office, and then I brought it home, and I think I cooked its roots 'cause I know they have really sensitive roots, is the pray- the prayer plants, or the Calathea.

They sell these at grocery stores.

I like that.

Yeah, like the Calathea tee that I've been knitting is based on the calathea houseplant and the contrast in the colors of the leaves on that plant.

Now, the Verba cowl is worked from the bottom up, so it starts at the bottom tip.

It's kind of bandana shaped, so it, there's a bottom tip that points down towards your belly button, I guess.

And why do you believe that is?

Look, because I think Calatheas, they're very exacting plants.

And the foliage that they have, I mean, I've got one sitting here.

The foliage is very, very unforgiving.
