In a joint statement yesterday, they said they were pursuing legal action to defend the principle that the government does not decide what the press reports.

Now, over at CNN, the star host there and political reporter Caitlin Collins posted this about Trump's selected ban.

One of the biggest questions that we've gotten asked and that we've asked our sources ever since the president announced that he was banning CNN, MSNOW and Politico from covering his administration on Friday was why now? The president has complained about negative coverage for decades, long before he was in political office.

So why is he taking this step to block outlets whose coverage he doesn't like from covering him? Well, our sources tell my colleague Kevin Liptak and I that last week the president's close aide, Natalie Harp, who is often seen with him in the Oval Office or on Air Force One, showed him graphics of negative coverage from Politico.

So sorry, Chris.

No, no, no.

Well, Caitlin Collins is right.

They've pulled the pool footage of these press conferences and there's no one filming what he turns up to.

And if you're wondering about the glare on the glass, there's obviously bulletproof plexiglass there making the images of, in this case, Attorney General Todd Blanch, a little hard to see.

Trump's chief of staff, Susie Wiles, talked about putting Trump on the campaign trail as part of the midterm strategy.

White House officials themselves are getting attorneys or they have attorneys that they know, and they're thinking of it in that regard because they know what it's like to be on the other side of this, many of them, and they're preparing for that to potentially happen yet again.

And the president has been telling people, should Democrats win, he believes that he will be impeached.

Well, and by the way, I was with your old pals at CNN Tuesday night and on Caitlin Collins' show.

And number one, I asked Caitlin, are you going to Dallas for the convention? She said no.

And that kind of underscores the point I was saying that I think we're going to see everything other than Fox and Newsmax giving very limited coverage to what happens in Dallas.

And so the Democrat spin masters are trying to do everything they can to cover up from their record.

And the media is, too.
