Cairnholy

Here's some late-breaking news that we felt we really had to share before the next episode came out.

The land around Cairnholy has been sold to a private hedge fund based down south and it appears the plan is to basically plant Sitka spruce all around it which is, as we know from around our own area here, is pretty destructive.

It will spoil the views and isn't really a bad idea.

For those of you who don't know what Cairnholy is, I've actually done a video about Cairnholy, It is a Neolithic site just up the coast from Newton Stewart, or between Newton Stewart and Kirkcudbright, to give you the sort of closest larger towns.

And it is older than pyramids as a site.

It has been used as a ceremonial site and it has been used as a burial cairn since 4000 BC.
