Burns Lake

It was known for good fishing and for being one of the most isolated fly-in lakes in the region.

My father helped us contact a pilot out of Burns Lake who would take us in by floatplane and pick us up five days later.

He wasn't thrilled about the idea, though.

He had worked with logging crews out near Utza and Nechako years before and said he had heard stories from the upper Tatse area, not from loggers, but from trappers.

She apparently had not stopped prostitution like she had planned, because while in Prince George, where she was supposed to be getting her items, she is seen by another friend going around the corner with a john, and she is never seen alive again.

Less than two months later, Roxanne's body is discovered at Burns Lake on August 17, 1994.

Her friend, a girl named Alicia Germain, also 15 years old, would be a homicide victim that very same year in December.

Next, Trans Mountain.

So the Trans Mountain pipeline, they filed with the Canada Energy Regulator for a $3.97 billion expansion.

And also the bus service, which really needs to be improved.

You know, it stops in Burns Lake and then it doesn't start the service until the next day.

So if you're not... you know if you don't know anybody in burns lake you're basically going to be waiting there overnight whether you have a shelter or not right so that's that's what we've been trying to prevent and it's just become an issue so we hope that you know that is resolved soon

So in terms of the event that is happening, well, maybe we could start with Saturday's event.

Phase one is going to be the Okanagan and the Kootenays all the way to Cranbrook.

Um, and then making my way up through Whistler, um, and then Prince George, Burns Lake, all the way to Prince Rupert, Haida Gwaii, and then taking the ferry down from Prince Rupert to Port Hardy, which I feel like is a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Not many British Columbians get to do, and then all the way down to Vancouver Island to Victoria back home.
