Burning Up

Just close your eyes.

Imagine the Salt Lake City housewives in their closets shoving too much clothing into way too much luggage, and let Madonna's Burning Up play in the background of your mind.

Trust me, it's more interesting than what we got.

I know that I should bring up the Grindr package on Andy's...

And I think Madonna was already... not fully established but somewhat established uh by the time the two of them crossed paths

so he had been playing everybody and so uh they introduced uh he was introduced to madonna and then madonna asked him to remix her debut album because it was still unfinished and he ended up he's credited as end as reshaping burning up borderline and lucky star and producing holiday Um, so yeah, so that, you know, whenever I, whenever I hear these stories, these origin stories and the breaks and how you kind of get found and stuff, I always just wish there was more footage of like today, every step of the way is filmed.

Everything's on

video.

It's crazy.

Yeah.

uh so mtv obviously becomes a big part of the madonna phenomenon yeah uh burning up was added to the mtv rotation in september of 83 and the steve barron directed the video built around the bold colors and the look of crucifix earrings and rubber bracelets.

And that styling with the midriff bearing, the teased hair, that Madonna, that 80s Madonna look.
