Burnage

So are they coming to our grounds? Is that what's happening or are we meeting

somewhere? Burnage are coming to Collegiate, aren't they? And Waterloo's the away fixture.

So we're aiming to have two teams.

Douglas are at home against Burnage next Saturday as well.

And I suspect we'll see Douglas Celts maybe versus Southern Nomads in the Manx Shield.

I don't have that fixture list to hand.

We were all working class kids from Oldham, apart from Tom, who was from Oxford.

Noel was very much a working class kid from Burnage, which is a different part of Manchester.

But we'd all... growing up in pretty solid families.

I think when Noel joined us, I think all our mums and dads were still around at that point.

The night after the dance, Saturday 28th November, police were called to the body of a woman in the gardens of 285 Kingsway, Burnage, Manchester.

This was in the garden of a 72-year-old Gwen Hughes.

She had heard a disturbance the night before and discovered the body the next morning, called the police.

The cause of death was multiple skull fractures.

Linda was formally identified by her brother Alan at Manchester Central Mortuary on the Sunday.

She was aged 22 and lived with her grandmother, widowed mother, and her other brothers and sisters at 5 Foxwood Gardens, Burnage.

Alan told police that Linda had been seeing Peterkill Cummings and was six months pregnant by him.

But going through that list, Dave, I was trying to find names that are recognised because there's some names that spring out straight away, don't they, that you remember these cases being on the news.

One of the cases piqued my interest because he was killed in Burnage, where I am from.

There's a great story behind this.

Not his murder, but who he was.

He was in his own band, The Mothman.

Yeah.

But he became this local figure in Burnage known as Cowboy Dave.

He got addicted to heroin.

And then Father Luke was a real find.

He's the priest at St. Bernard's Church in Burnage, which is actually the church where Liam and Noel were christened and did their first Holy Communion.

And we just popped in there one day because we were kind of wrecking Burnage and wanted to see where they'd grown up and go to the school.

And we filmed some stuff, but it didn't make it into the film.

But we just popped into the church and met Father Luke.
