And that was the really interesting thing about being at, like, the Burlington Mall-

But the brilliant part is you don't need to take CEOs to lunch.

You can just go to the Burlington Mall.

Lynch believed hanging out at the mall, seeing what teenagers were buying, observing foot traffic, was vastly superior to taking a broker's advice.

This is Peter's principle number 14: If you like the store, chances are you'll love the stock.

It measures revenue from stores open at least a year, so you know the core business is actually gaining popularity, not just growing by opening new doors.

Exactly.

And look, the Burlington Mall might be dead, but today your mall is your iPhone screen.

What software subscriptions is your family refusing to cancel? The mechanism of observation hasn't changed.

If anyone can confirm that for me that, like, in the '90s there was, like, a full-sized Xenomorph statue or just a sculp- like a head, like a bust, I don't know.

It, for me it's very tied into the Sharper Image at the Burlington Mall.

So anyway, the original maquette for the movie was sculpted from plasticine, real bones, not human, but ribs and snake vertebra, and parts of an old Rolls-Royce, which is wild.

So there's that, like, biomechanical kind of combination.

You know what the cool thing about doing Mall Cop is that we got to ride in the mall, the Burlington Mall in, in, uh, Boston, or Bur- Vermont.

I guess that would be Vermont.

Mm-hmm.

It's the Burlington.

Anyw- and I don't remember.

It's in the Burlington Mall.

Mm-hmm.

And, and Peter Lynch, what was his edge? Well, he did what I call boots-on-the-ground investing, so he had the time to thoroughly research every company.

So I believe he said one of his favorite sources of investment ideas was the Burlington Mall, where he would go shopping and he would see how customers and workers are being treated.

So he'd go beyond just the financials and look at the underlying fundamentals of a company.

But for an individual investor, it is not clear where our competitive edge might lie.

As do I and Michelle.

The one up in Burlington, actually, in the Burlington Mall, which is like you're in a mall, but this food's amazing.

Yeah.

But Karma's more of, like, a high-end sushi restaurant or Asian fusion, I guess I would say.

And when I saw that building, I said, I need to live in this house.

And that building was Nakatomi Plaza from Die Hard, the movie that I saw with my brother at the Burlington Mall.

That really made me fall in love with the idea of having a brother who's my best friend.

And so when I saw that building, I thought, well, that's for a reason that I'm staring right at that.
