Burl Toler

He was, uh, delayed in getting the ball ready for play, and it wound up the, the clock ran out, so he sat for two games.

And then the, the 1968 incident, which was Norm Schachter's crew with, uh, with some names on there, Joe O'Connell, uh, Joe Conn- uh, and, uh, Burl Toler, uh, Jack Fetti again, uh, Adrian Burke, the black judge, and George Ellis, the field judge.

Uh, they were supposed to enforce, uh, 15 yards from the spot of the foul on, uh, holding, which is what it was in that day, but they dropped the down.

They did not repeat the down, and so I believe it was the Rams that were entitled to have a fourth and 35 or 40 or something like that, and they did not get it, and it was not until after the game was, uh, completed and they looked at the film that, yeah, they realized that that was incorrectly enforced, so they sat for a game and did not get post-season assignments.
