So this guy probably won't see it, but I'll address this.

He says, I think it would be fair to ask Burke Magnus, who's the president of ESPN, next time he's on one of your podcasts, if the shift to be more politically right wing on college game day is intentional, it's rather alienating.

And I think it's an important yes, no for the record.

This is a ridiculous question.

So like, I, I love all sports, and the, the goal is gonna be hitting on all sports, and not from this we have to do it or check the box because ESPN is showing it, but because it's, it's interesting to me, and I'm curious about it.

You know, Burke Magnus, who has been very instrumental, um, in this version of ESPN, and Mike Foss, and Jimmy Pitaro, of course, these guys are sports fans, and like, Burke is a huge lacrosse person.

So like, he, he wants to talk lacrosse.

I'm, personally, my-- I don't have a big background in lacrosse, but I'm interested in it, and if lacrosse is a topic that comes up, I'd like to tackle that.

So when you have the opportunity to be in front of young people to talk about this, what's the main thing you try and impart on them in terms of the gravity of this moment and how you recollected all of this through that experience?

I was on an event with Burke Magnus, major executive there in Bristol, last November at Seton Hall, and someone asked a question to explain our decision-making process on 9-11.

I look out into the audience and the sea of youthful faces, and I say, I'll gladly tell you basically what I've just explained to you guys, but it's as relevant personally as Pickett's Charge or Pearl Harbor.

It's a page in a history book.

Bill is obviously very tied in with ESPN- Yeah ...

so this wonderful gentleman named Burke Magnus, who's still at ESPN, he was-- he loves the Dead too, so we- Uh ... kind of built this, this whole behi- making of, of Fire on the Mountain, and then fast-forward again.

Mickey calls, hi- him and Bill call me on a group, group chat, [laughs] um, and Mickey wanted to take unseen footage for their final tour- Wow ...

in 2023 when they announced their final tour.

Owner Steve Ballmer, who spent the past year publicly denying wrongdoing and insisting that aspiration, quote, conned him, is now suspended from all team and league activities for one full year.

Team president Gillian Zunker and basketball operations president Lawrence Frank also suspended without pay.

Leonard himself must pay the league $700,000, but will be able to suit up for the Raptors as his offseason trade to the team was on hold pending the league's findings.

In a statement, Leonard said he accepted, quote, full responsibility for lapses in judgment by people within my inner circle and regret the distraction this situation has caused the fans and my family.

After the college football season wraps, Traeger's show will move to five days a week.

The 44-year-old made his name at NFL Network's Good Morning Football before joining ESPN last year, and he'll be joined daily by rotating panelists, including former players and reporters.

It's also a big bet from ESPN president of content, Burke Magnus, who's already leaned heavily this year on Pat McAfee's expanded role.

And speaking of McAfee, we'll have news of another new role for him in just a moment.

Um, and so now you'd have a consistency on those, uh, days.

Here's a question that I get all the time from people, both inside the business and outside of the business, is, uh, uh, look, Burke Magnus is a smart guy.

Jimmy Pitaro is a smart guy.

Uh, how is s- how is paying Pat McAfee $65 million a year worth it to ESPN? How do you make that money back?

I mean, are you gonna, you should probably should have, uh, Jimmy Pitaro or Burke Magnus on, I would say, to answer that.

[laughs] I mean, to me-

One of the things that Burke Magnus and other ESPN executives have talked about is that they think maybe college football, not maybe, they think college football talk has been undersold.

over the last couple years, and you're seeing them amp that up.

McAfee is obviously a massive figure now on that network.

There's some others.

But, yeah, I think that with Mike Golick, yeah, it's sort of – it's kind of who's in charge, you know, it switches up and, you know, Burke Magnus is now the head of the content.

You know, when he, when the Golic's were let go, it was Dave Roberts.

It was David Roberts who was heading up that.
