Buffer zone

Imperial logic in its purest form.

Lavrov suggests turning Ukraine into a buffer zone.

Putin's foreign minister called the country a fairly artificial construct and claimed that the Soviets had once attached historically Russian territories to its western regions.

And so here he is saying that Russia needs a buffer zone.

Let Ukraine become this buffer zone.

And he says, we, both the president and your humble servant, have repeatedly recalled how modern Ukraine was formed when, by the will of the Soviet leadership, it was artificially made and so on and so forth.

Okay, this is just the same song, second verse.

So where exactly is that relative to the park?

Inside the buffer zone, the land that the indigenous families cultivated on, paid tax on for generations and more importantly, the exact land where these animals that lived there, the rhinos, the elephants, the wild buffaloes go to survive the Brahmaputra's floods.

When the park's core is flooded, it's these buffer zones that the animals migrate to that give them shelter, that help them survive.

So this hotel is basically coming up exactly where these animals go to when they're already in danger, right?

Yeah, the hotel is taking away from the animals' safety, from their survival.

Poaching was already an issue.

Now we are the neo-poachers.

The same people that protected these buffer zones, made sure that the animals had a place to live, are now making sure that they do not survive the floods.

Uh, Syria.

Defense minister from Isra- Israel, Katz, said Israel will not leave Syria buffer zone as long as jihadist threats remain.

This is from yesterday.

Defense Minister Katz from Israel on Tuesday told troops in southern Syria, he was up there, that IDF will not leave the buffer zone as long as jihadist threats remain, which is considered a belligerent message to Damascus.

He says we will not move from Mount Hermon and the security zone as long as there are jihadist threats to the State of Israel.

He says the message to the president of Syria is clear.

He said Israel acted against a Turkish attempt to establish itself in Syria while putting Israel's security interest at risk, obviously referring to the strikes on the air base.

He says, "We will make this clear-- We made this clear and we will stand by it in the future as well." For Syria's part, the foreign ministry condemned Katz, Israel Katz, defense minister from Israel's visit as illegal and said its crossing of the international border was a flagrant violation of Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

We are open to compromise, and we have discussed this, um, on our Save Cuchulainn's Castle campaign, that we are open to compromise.

There's a 50-meter buffer zone there, and, um, I don't think that that's adequate.

The campaign doesn't feel that this is an adequate buffer zone at all.

There's huge potential there for, um, heritage development, for tourism development, um, various other different things.

Like, we're not saying, "No, absolutely not.
