Buffalo '66

Number 10, I don't want to spend too much time on this one because it is a very challenging film and sometimes off-putting film for a lot of people.

My number 10 is Buffalo 66, the Vincent Gallo film.

Gotcha.

Which I know is a difficult film for a lot of people to stomach, even myself included, knowing how Christina Ricci was treated on set by Vincent Gallo during the filmmaking of this one.

And if you're able to do that...

I can't deny that this film continues to have an effect on me.

It is one I saw back in college, and it's stuck with me for quite a bit since then, but for very different reasons than it does now, and a lot of it maybe does come down to the behind-the-scenes aspect of it that kind of bleeds into it, but when you think of it just on its own terms in a vacuum, the idea of a main character of Billy Brown here who just physically is incapable of coming of age, due to childhood insecurities, parental neglect, whatever it might be.

Where this film goes in the end, I found surprisingly moving this time around.

So highly recommend Rounders and John Dahl's whole filmography, so.

I watched Buffalo 66 with, uh-

I've seen that.

With Vincent Gallo and Christina Ricci

She was just the narrator in that.

I've seen her in Pritzy's Honor, This is Spinal Tap, Buffalo 66, and The French Dispatch.

And I've seen her in The Addams Family, the 1991 version, and Ever After, A Cinderella Story, and Heard Her in Isle of Dogs.

Roy is played by John Cusack.

And

then you look at, obviously, like in the 90s, we were talking about like, you know, Buffalo 66.

Oh.

You know, like Gummo, Kelly Reichardt's films.

he has done two things that I know in terms of films.

He did Buffalo 66, which is him and another...

It's a very good movie.

It's him and another girl who I feel fits the sort of Reese, Natasha Lyonne... oeuvre sort of in terms of like could be in a freeway three and christina ricci i think she's like of a type with the two of them makes

buffalo 66 i really like margaret really like the movie we all like the movie to get that move that song that movie is also referenced in the wet leg song where it's like hey you want to come home with me i got buffalo 66 on dvd like it's a very indie cult like cool guy like i got buffalo whatever The other thing that I know that he did is he made the movie, The Brown Bunny.

And the only thing I know about The Brown Bunny is that Chloe Sevigny gives him a blow job on screen in the movie.

And so like, that's kind of like what I knew about him.

Not, not kind of.

It is a follow-up to last year's episode that we did on Buffalo 66, a movie written, directed, produced, and starring Vincent Gallo.

So we couldn't pass up the next film.

The longer the drive to Los Angeles progresses, so does Billy's loneliness, loneliness level breach its capacity.
