I'm Frances Garrett.

I'm a professor of Buddhist studies at the University of Toronto, and for five years I served as director of the Buddhism, Psychology, and Mental Health program, an undergraduate minor that's usually just called BPMH.

This series tells the story of that program.

It's based on hundreds of letters from students, alumni, faculty members, staff, clinicians, community organizations, and scholars from Canada and abroad, alongside student surveys, institutional reports, curriculum documents, committee records, public communications, media coverage, and archival materials spanning the last half century.

Last month, we considered two approaches to a neglected corpus of hundreds of Mahayana scriptures, lost in Sanskrit but preserved in translation.

And it's really striking in this scripture that Prasenajit at that point says, what? I have not even heard of this Buddha.

Today, we return to our interview with Rafa Felber, Wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiter to the Chair of Buddhist Studies at Heidelberg University.

Last month, in part one of our interview, we covered some of Rafa's early research, the dissertation he wrote here at Stanford, and the digital editing environment tool he helped to create as a postdoctoral research fellow at Leiden University.
