Bucklew v. Precythe

That ruling sits inside the trap the United States Supreme Court locked in place in 2019 in a case called Bucklew v. McClure.

Perseid, five justices said a prisoner who claims a method is too cruel could only win by naming a different method the state could carry out easily and quickly.

And that would clearly hurt less.

The alternative doesn't have to be legal in that state yet, but the prisoner has to prove the state could do it.
