you know the fact Jack Fincham obviously he's for this

neck of the woods did you fight him? no no I didn't fight him he's too wee and I don't take liberties no but it's he was there and he was part of the kind of promotional team and you know what I mean just f***ing being Jack the lad till he is you know what I mean I really got on with him really really liked him so I brought him down I bought a Buckfast and I was like so there's a video that I'm not sure if I can find the video I'm trying but he's tried that and put it down and I've realised as I was going out that I've drank this bottle I drank this bottle before I went to fight I didn't train I think I'd done three training sessions or something it was a nightmare for that I had within my first nine professional fights I think I had something like 13 coaches They were actually thinking about calling me Untrainable.

That was going to be the name.

Untrainable Jamie McFarlane was going to be the name.

Trainers.

Buckfast when you could get it.

When was the last Buckfast Abbey come back like yesterday? [laughs]

You know, I even see, I even seen you, I'm pretty sure I bought a Buckfast in, uh, Boston or Miami.

You did, you did.

I think that's what dri- priests drink.

Mm-hmm.

And because I was working in the West Edinburgh, we had our staff party in Fiddlers.

I remember pacing up and down, waiting until past 10 o'clock because all I can think of in my head, I want to get two and a half licence to drink Buckfast because that was my drink of choice at the time.

I was like, I want that.

And I rang even my parents and my stepfather was like, do you want me to come up for you? And I was like, well, I'll see how I go on.

And then he started receiving calls from her when he was back at the tent and she was just off her face saying how much fun she was having with her new friends and And then on another call, she was boasting about being with some young fellas in a gazebo.

And he overheard some lad saying, you know, cautioning her to watch out with the bottle of Buckfast she was drinking.

And she was like, yeah, I drink this all the time.

I'm older than you, whatever.

The sort of like crack around pints is just, we've done it before.

It's not for me.

But no, like Buckfast, to say you didn't miss anything.

Yeah.

Yeah, I'll be there.

Flare in one hand, bottle of Buckfast in another.

I know.

Just don't want them to stop me.

Great beer.

When I played rugby as a lad, they had Buckfast wine on tap at the rugby

club.

You had Buckfast? Yeah.

It ruins

your life? Yeah, it does.

It does.

And there's no one I've met who's gone, I'm all right on this.

[laughing] It's a savory wine, and I don't mean that in the fact that you have it with savory foods, it's just savory itself.

[laughing] One for Liam, one for Taliesin, and for Peggy.

[laughing] I've never felt scummier in my entire life- [laughing] ... than going into a corner store and buying 10 mini Buckfasts.

[laughing] And he was like, "Do you not want to just buy a full bottle?" And I was like, "No, it's very important that they're all mini ones.

I need to make 10 separate terrible decisions during the day." [laughing] "I have 11 children to visit." Um- [laughing] Good.

So it's basically like cocaine.

Or it's like Buckfast, that wine coffee thing in England.

And it's very popular among people who, as it was described to me, want to drink and sit down on a curb and throw up in between their knees.

That was and then they break the bottles and they swing them at each other.
