And with, I thought, I mean, you could probably tell me the numbers, but I thought it was more power gap concepts than I've seen.
Dan SchneierHOST
4:30
in recent weeks and i'll say this from my evaluation if we're starting on the offensive line i thought it was to me clearly brian hudson's best game as a new york football giant this was the game where i watched and i was like all right now we are getting that upgrade over jms the original two games we had before this i was pretty skeptical that it was an upgrade i will say this mal you know it did have some big reps he also missed some blocks in the run game that i thought limited the giants run game it's not perfect yet with him by any means And I thought Runyon missed a lot of blocks in this game personally.
Dan SchneierHOST
5:00
I think Runyon is limiting this Giants run game, even though it was amazing.

Nick FalatoHOST
24:19
he gets eliminated from the play malachi fields and now it's a safety against cam scataboo in the hole and cam scataboo just absolutely annihilates him like the giants are doing a great job designing these runs bro
Dan SchneierHOST
24:27
they really are and that's a great nuance that you pointed out with the pump fake and just the way to hold those defenders um and you know i loved how they used they've been doing it all season but i love how they use malachi fields as an insert blocker this wasn't the best of the reps they used them on a few more and he had a couple one that came comes to mind uh maybe we'll go over it later we really made a big impact as the insert blocker he's a big bodied guy And he's somebody who can be a useful weapon for you at the wide receiver position, not just as a receiver, but as a blocker.
Nick FalatoHOST
24:54
And look at Brian Hudson's just strength on this pop, right? Like he's just, he displayed, you say, yeah, it's a double team, but 93 doesn't know that this is coming.
Nick FalatoHOST
25:03
And Brian Hudson makes that hit and then gets zero and takes him out too.
Bobby SkinnerHOST
18:11
Right now we know it's still struggling.
Bobby SkinnerHOST
18:13
Brian Hudson gets his first true test, and John Runyon's been so-so, and then both tackles are banged up.
Bobby SkinnerHOST
18:19
We don't even know if Jermaine Loomer is actually playing.
Bobby SkinnerHOST
18:22
And here's something.
Patricia TrainaHOST
18:55
So that's what I saw on film.
Patricia TrainaHOST
18:57
All right, Giant fans, coming up next, I had an opportunity to sit and chat with Bryan Hudson, the Giant's starting center.
Patricia TrainaHOST
19:05
So I will play that interview for you when we return.
Patricia TrainaHOST
19:13
A big thank you to our friends over at Amazon for this brief break.

Patricia TrainaHOST
20:20
And for you in this segment, I have my one-on-one interview with Giants center Bryan Hudson.
Patricia TrainaHOST
20:27
Now, just a reminder, the Giants do not allow us to take video in the locker room, the temporary locker room.
Paul DottinoHOST
41:45
Uh, do we have anything going up today, Matt?
Matt CitakHOST
41:47
Yes, I posted it before coming down, uh, the weekly Friday Huddle with Brian Hudson.
Paul DottinoHOST
41:54
Giants starting center.
Matt CitakHOST
41:55
Who the Coach Harbaugh said will be starting at center on Sunday.
John SchmeelkHOST
24:47
Mark Malusa with Chris Carino will be going up today.
John SchmeelkHOST
24:49
And we're going to have Brian Hudson, the Giants' new starting center.
John SchmeelkHOST
24:51
Huddy will be joining us on the player interview show tomorrow.
John SchmeelkHOST
24:54

Jordan RaananHOST
27:33
Let's start from the middle and work out.
Jordan RaananHOST
27:36
Um, Brian Hudson's the new starting center.
Jordan RaananHOST
27:40
John Harbaugh conceded that he's gonna go with him again this week as the starter, uh, so he is now the new starting center.
Jordan RaananHOST
27:48
Uh, I think he was okay in this game.
DrewHOST
23:04
The actual center.
DrewHOST
23:05
Brian Hudson will start again at center, uh, versus the Saints, so craziness there, guys, craziness.
DrewHOST
23:14
But Harbaugh's confirmed Brian Hudson remains the starting center for week six.
DrewHOST
23:18
Again, John Michael Schmitz is still in the plans and could play, but Hudson has earned another start.
DrewHOST
23:25
I, I love that.
Dave SyvertsenHOST
35:30
It was, like, one of his first snaps, and then from there he played, he played really well.
Dave SyvertsenHOST
35:33
And this is a huge difference between the Giants now and Giants previous years, that you are on your second string, technically, I should say your second starting center in Brian Hudson, and then you have Jermaine Eluemunor going out, who's been playing pretty good football, a lot of penalties, but still really good football this year.
Jerry FoleyHOST
35:49
Yeah.
Dave SyvertsenHOST
35:49
And Marcus Bell, I'm tell you what, man, like, I told him before week one, I was like, "That, he's gonna get a shot at some point."

9 MINS LATER

Dave SyvertsenHOST
44:44
So I agree that Cam Scatabo, there wasn't much there to work with, and part of that was commanders have a pretty underrated defensive line, just a lot of big, physical, strong bodies that are really hard to move.
Dave SyvertsenHOST
44:55
I actually think it's a very hard-ball type defensive line.
Dave SyvertsenHOST
44:59
But Brian Hudson, I don't wanna talk about his game yet because I haven't really watched that angle to it yet.
Jerry FoleyHOST
45:05
Mm-hmm.
Matt CitakHOST
59:32
He did.
Matt CitakHOST
59:32
For Brian Hudson, who came into training camp seemingly like a long shot to even make the roster, ended up beating veteran Lucas Patrick, who is now starting for the commanders at center, actually.
Matt CitakHOST
59:44
Indeed.
Matt CitakHOST
59:44
But he ended up beating him out for the backup center role, and he filled in really well this past Sunday.
Patricia TrainaHOST
19:51
You brought up John Michael Schmitz and Tyler New, but I was actually going to ask you that next.
Patricia TrainaHOST
19:56
With John Michael Schmitz, I mean, Brian Hudson played pretty well, all things considered, on Sunday.
Patricia TrainaHOST
20:03
And Jason Pinnock, before he had to leave the game with an injury, he wasn't too bad either.
Patricia TrainaHOST
20:09
So assuming that Hudson is healthy, which we have no reason to believe he's not, And assuming that Pinnock is good to go, do you make that switch now? I mean, I know Harbaugh, particularly about centers, said, oh, we've got two centers we like.
Ed ValentineGUEST
21:06
You know, when you, you know, when you bring him up into the box and things like that, if If John Harbaugh's meritocracy continues to hold, I think Jason Pinnock probably takes that job eventually.
Ed ValentineGUEST
21:22
But the center position in my piece looking at storylines for this coming week, which actually runs on Wednesday morning.
Ed ValentineGUEST
21:37
I talked about the center position, and I said that in my view, I think Brian Hudson has to start.
Ed ValentineGUEST
21:45
And look, it's not because I can sit here and bang the table after Brian Hudson had played in one NFL game and say he's definitively better than John Michael Schmitz.
