This week, we're broadcasting live from a family farm in Texas, discussing the 2020 supernatural horror film, The Dark and the Wicked.

This film was written and directed by Bryan Bertino.

Short on budget but rich in atmosphere, The Dark and the Wicked offers a tale that is as human as it is horrifying.

With impactful performances, unrelenting dread, and indelibly insidious imagery, this film would achieve modest box office success, positive critical reception, and would further find its audience when it haunted the homes of horror fans on streaming.

But thankfully, the film's producer, Adrienne Biddle, provided some insight and background into the making of The Dark and the Wicked, the story of which takes us all the way back to 2005.

Over a decade before the release of The Dark and the Wicked, when Biddle was working at Summit Entertainment, she first met Bryan Bertino, an aspiring screenwriter-director.

In their initial meeting, Bertino impressed Biddle not only with his passion and understanding of the horror genre, but also with a screenplay that he had written which made quite an impact on her.

nice nice sounds good oh also i did watch i forgot to mention i i wasn't able to log it um uh the dark and the wicked i've never seen that watched on talk about a downer i feel like sure yeah i feel like i need to watch it again because i was a little distracted while watching it um had some stuff going on so i didn't i don't know My opinion on it, I feel like, is a little tainted because right now I'm going to tell you I wasn't the biggest fan of it, but I feel like I need to rewatch it.

This movie scares me.

Um... like i have said for when i watched undertone i felt like something was there this movie literally i have never i don't believe the whole entire thing of if you watch a horror movie you bring stuff into your house i felt like there was something from this movie like um i think it's br is it brian bertino who directs it I think it is.

So him doing this and the Strangers, like the OG Strangers, not the whole entire shitty trilogy by Ernie Harlan.

He just knows how to make horror movies.
