Bruce Swayze

His, uh, family will be in attendance to accept.

He joins Bobo Brazil and Bruce Swayze as the only three to be in the Art Walk Hall of Fame."

Well, that's great.

Art Walk of Fame.

Yeah.

And then we lost beautiful Bruce Swayze.

Did you know him, Jerry?

Oh, I knew Bruce very well.

Jim, another passing I wanna mention, someone you would know.

Bruce Swayze passed away just a few days ago, I believe at the age of 84.

And actually, I'd gotten a birthday email from a friend, Dale Spear, and he had mentioned that, that he just heard that, uh, on Facebook or whatever.

And beautiful Bruce Swayze, uh, help me, you might even have to Google this, but I swear I know that there is a story here that he is related to Patrick Swayze.

I believe so.

Have you heard that story?

But yes, um, a nice man, as I recall.

Didn't know too much about him.

And before we sign off, 'cause we're gonna make this one a little shorter than usual because of the l- length of the interview, I just found out, I'm recording this on a Monday before the sh- show comes out on Friday.

I talk about the National Wrestling Federation, NWF, which I discovered in 1970, and I just found out that beautiful Bruce Swayze died.

Another name you probably heard, but maybe you've never seen the guy work.

He's a really handsome guy, used to have, like, these short leopard tights.

I'll be going for follow-up appointments soon, and I'm taking things one breath, one day, and one step at a time." End quote.

And in some unfortunate news, Canadian journeyman wrestler Bruce Swayze passed away last Friday, as was first reported yesterday by Florida wrestling historian Barry Rose on social media.

Born in Kirkland Lake, Ontario, in 1940, Swayze first took an interest in playing hockey, and after graduating high school, he first crossed paths with the wrestling industry at Jack Wentworth's gym in Hamilton, Ontario, where he had been working out as a young hockey player.

Swayze was scouted by Wentworth and gave wrestling a try in 1958, getting early experience into the 1960s in the Detroit, Buffalo, and Pittsburgh circuits, while still working full time at a steel mill.

Getting out of the business by the early 1980s, Swayze took a job as a sales representative for a packaging business owned by the family of his new wife.

He was honored by the Cauliflower Alley Club in 2003.

Bruce Swayze was 84 years old.
