That night, this feed experiences a bit of an anomaly, because of course it does.

Now, I have to give credit to the private investigator, Bruce Ricketts, and tell you that he did a lot of work on this part of the case.

There are really comprehensive photographs, including aerial photos of where the cameras were located and their field of view, not to mention the hours of footage he reviewed to create a comprehensive timeline of what was captured that night.

I will share what I can, which is mostly limited to what he himself shared publicly, but I have also taken my own painstaking routes to find photos, and I'll post everything I'm able to on Instagram for you to see.

and that they should have the boys' mothers file an official missing persons report through the proper channels.

According to Bruce Ricketts, the private investigator would go on to spend nearly two decades of his life digging into this case.

Well, Gillum actually went a step further than that.

Ricketts says the officer effectively logged the girls' report as unfounded.

But as far as public information goes, that lead never produced a confirmed identification either.

So the one piece of physical evidence this case ever had, a coincidence so specific it seemed almost too perfect turned out to be exactly that, a coincidence and nothing more.

Which brings us to Bruce Ricketts.

And without this guy, I'm not sure we'd even be talking about this case today.

Now, that could absolutely be the case, but there's a lot that doesn't make sense to me and I have questions.

My goal with this podcast is to walk with you through the evidence, the police investigation, the subsequent 12-year investigation done by private investigator Bruce Ricketts, and bring listeners up to the present day.

Then, hopefully, move this case forward, break down the realistic theories, and talk through the obvious questions with the hope that these new perspectives will help to uncover the truth or bring closure, whatever that might be.

It makes sense to start by giving listeners a better understanding of what that night was like and the area where this story takes place.

The caller said they saw what appeared to be a boat fully engulfed in flames.

I have so many questions.

From what I was able to find online, it looks like private investigator Bruce Ricketts got the 911 response logs, and although they were heavily redacted, he found that the call was logged by dispatch but never followed up on.

Because the police were not yet aware that the boys or a boat was missing, it was allegedly completely dismissed and no marine units were dispatched to the coordinates the caller had provided.
