Brownists

And the founder of this group was – I won't go too far into the details here just to give you a color – was a man named Brown.

And so they were referred to as Brownists.

And their view was that we just had to separate entirely from – the Church of England and from traditional Christianity because it's totally corrupt.

And it all depends on the individual.

Sometimes they end up coming back.

So one of the most famous is the Brownists in the 16th, 17th centuries.

The Brownists, named after Mr.

Brown, who was for some time at St. Helen Bishop Gate.

Norwich and he decided that really the church should be a Congregationalist sort of church and not a Episcopal sort of thing and so he he left to try and do his own thing he had to leave the country to do it because it wasn't legally possible to do that within the Church of England.
