Broviac catheter

Some people have a port.

My child had a Broviac, um, which is a catheter, um, that's inserted outside of the skin, but then goes in right up, um, to the tip of the heart.

And that's where all the medications are delivered.

There's a sticker over top of that, uh, it's called a dressing, and that needs to be changed every week, every seven days, to make sure that, uh, no infection, uh, gets there, 'cause it's... could be a source of infection.

That's one example of a difficult thing that I, you know, recognized, brought in some resources, and then we adapted.

And through medical play, one of the resources that I'll give at the end, there's neuroblastoma, um, info.com has beautiful resources.

And I, uh, stuffed panda, red panda [laughs] with a Broviac that they will give to you for free.

Um, and we would change the dressing [laughs] on that bear.
