Brother Yun

Uh, it's incredible.

Brother Yun, The Heavenly Man.

All right.

We are going to keep moving here because Lindsay's going to be sharing with us the, the value of the advice from elders.

There, you know, 'cause I've, I've, I've been talking about this a lot 'cause I'm reading this book.

It's called The, The Heavenly Man, and it's, it's written by Brother Yun, who I would advise or, you know, say any of y'all, if y'all wanna read that book, buy that book, it's absolutely amazing.

Brother Yun, he's still alive today.

I believe they've mo- he was a, he was a, a, a Chinese pastor and a church planter in China, obviously.

And you know, he's been, he's been taken out of that nation.

His name's Isaac.

I think he pastors a church in either Tennessee or Kentucky in America.

But, but listen, this man, this, this man, this Brother Yun is, is unreal.

Yeah.

I think when you, when you bump into a Brother Yun or Pastor Peter, so he- to me, here's the scary part.

It's a, it's an honor, but it's scary.

Mm.

Let me say it another way.

The other- ... side of the coin is challenging, and here's the challenging part.

In a good way, it's super scary, is that what happened to Brother Yun and Pastor Peter, the way they lived their life and the way they disciple people.

And for those of you who don't know, um, Brother Yun, uh, wrote the book called The Heavenly Man.

And yet we had many generations that follow after those disciples doing the exact same thing, sacrificing themselves for the exact same reason.

And while we were there, Pastor Andrew Brunson, one of the pastors, because we had Brother Yun who came, we had Isaac, son of the underground who came, we had Sister Esther who had been thrown in prison in both China and North Korea who came, we had Brother Joseph who is the brother of Shagufta who was put on death row who came, and all of these individuals shared with us stories and lessons and experiences of what the persecuted church is going through today in Muslim countries, in Hindu countries, in Buddhist countries, in communist countries.

And they brought a warning.

And that warning was really culminated in Pastor Andrew Brunson.

I said, oh, you mean I don't have to be tortured? He said, no.

I was reading, have you heard of Brother Yun, who's from China? He was suffered in the Chinese prison.

And something that he said that really hit me because I thought, well, he'd been tortured.

He'd been put in prison, in dungeons.

And I'm like, okay, I don't do that.

And while he was here, he said, Lisa, you need to read a book called Heavenly Man by Brother Yun, who actually is from the China Underground Church.

And he starts telling me about, you know, how he's in prison, and then God opens the prison doors, and he just walks out like he did with Peter.

And I'm thinking, who are these people? And why is it in the United States that things like that just don't happen? And it made me kind of jealous.
