Brookville

Uh, speaking of, of tiger designs, you see, he's getting, he's working with the arm chair collective, which is an organization with which I was previously unfamiliar.

Um, He's working with the Armchair Collective to redevelop the former Tam O'Shanter, the former Tam O'Shanter Golf Course or Country Club in Brookville, New York, which is the quote-unquote Gold Coast of Long Island.

Yeah.

Yeah, so Tiger.

It's time for the pick six.

And this week we begin in Brookville, New York, Shark Stadium, where the Stonehill Skyhawks took on the undefeated in conference play LIU Sharks, who were 3-0 and off to their best conference start in program history.

Now, Stonehill got off to the perfect start, couldn't have scripted it any better.

On LIU's opening possession, second play of the game, Abijasa Adige brought down quarterback Lucas Tanzani for a loss of 14 yards, forcing a fumble that ended up in the end zone for a safety and a 2-0 Skyhawk lead.

They got the ball for one last play.

Their lateral buffet in the final seconds failed.

It was turned over, and Stonehill leaves Brookville with an enormous NEC road victory, handing LIU their first conference loss.

O'Connell threw for 233 yards and the game winning touchdown while Baker delivered seven catches for 103 yards, including the decisive score.

I'm sure our listeners are just soaking every word from you up.

But I would like to make sure that our listeners get to hear about your leadership roles and how you came to the Brookville Multifaith Campus.

Because not only did you both create a personal, beautiful, successful interfaith community, story and marriage.

But now what you have done is you have brought your leadership to the Brookfield Multifaith Campus, which people know that the living experiment is rooted from a place where Christians, Jews, and Muslims worship together side by side with a commitment to dignity, respect, and deep understanding.

So Sheila Gordon is a great visionary.

Also, Reverend Vicki Eastland of the church here is a visionary because the community at Port Washington wanted a place to come to have the classes.

And the Brookville Church was so opening and welcoming of that community that this was great to not only learn in the classroom, but also practice in faith.

And the synagogue is also in the same place.

This is where it gets crazy.

On Tuesday, October 20th at 6:30 PM, the Tilles Center Concert Hall in Brookville is hosting Ghostbusters in Concert.

And Ghostbusters is a movie from 1984.

Right.

Exactly.

It's an economic reality.

To convince human beings to leave their comfortable homes, put on real clothes, drive to Brookville or Farmingdale and spend their money, the venue has to offer a multi-sensory experience that is physically impossible to pirate.

I can't stream a live symphony orchestra vibrating the floorboards of a concert hall, and I can't stream a chef timing a themed appetizer to arrive the exact moment a spell is cast on screen.

Yes.

And right where, is it technically Brookville on-

Uh, I think so, yes

...

Hi, I'm Lori, and I'm so glad you're here.

We are launching this podcast from the Brookville Multi-Faith Campus in Brookville, New York, a unique community that is home to the Brookville Church, the New Synagogue of Long Island, and the Muslim Renewal Community.

On this podcast, we'll have conversations about faith, identity, community, and what it means to live together in an increasingly divided world.

We'll talk with faith leaders, interfaith families, public figures, and people with stories and perspectives that can teach us something new.

It's time for The Pick Six.

And we start in Brookville, New York, on Saturday afternoon, our ESPN+ Game of the Week, as the Mercyhurst Lakers opened up NEC play on the road at Shark Stadium against LIU.

The second-ever meeting between these two teams.

I was on the call for last year's game up in Erie when Mercyhurst took the win a year ago.
