mill city numismatics table it's one of the first tables in the door um you can meet andrew my mentor and it'll be his booth i will have both of my charity gumball machines with me and a showcase of my stuff um but if so if you're in the area or you want to travel just to take a break and do some coin stuff northwest coin club show in brooklyn center minnesota will get you set up All right, guys, that's the end of the show this week.

I do appreciate you coming on this journey with me for without you, I would be talking to myself and I can tell you from experience in Iraq and a gunner's hatch with a headset where I could only hear myself that it's no fun.

I'd like to thank all of the soldiers, sailors, Marines, airmen, and all veterans for their service for without you, we could not do what we do here in the rear with the gear.

But outside of that, my parents were from a little area up by Lake of the Woods near War Road.

called greenbush badger area and uh my mother was actually born in peeland which is up by uh past birchdale near the on the brainy river so uh northern minnesota as far as you could get and then i was uh when i happened they had to move to the cities for jobs and and they they got a place on the mississippi river uh near uh the 294 bridge and uh so i went to brooklyn center high school and there's not a lot of kids there at that time it was a small graduating class but let's just call it if there's few it's like a trace amount of kids around but i had a a little lung boat with bench seats and at nine years old i was running the river almost every day by myself and had fun and so I had a farmer type of parents and they always would say please don't wreck the boat they didn't say oh son be careful you know don't wreck the boat and if you do you got to fix it and here's some tools in your your box I'd be gone all day one minute I'm fishing rock piles that were used in the logging days to push stuff down river and be sitting on those and in uh i i learned one valuable lesson and when i went way downstream all the way down to saint anthony and i got uh had boat problems i had to roll back and um and i learned so i always fished upstream and i would go as far as i can every now and then i'd make it almost the coon rapids dam but uh you know turtle eggs and snapping turtles and all kinds of fun, soft shells.

It was fun, you know, even just catching them, looking at them, throwing them back, try not to get bit.

And it was really neat.

but, um, it was actually very awesome because its whole purpose was to reduce social isolation.

So I was fooling around thinking, "We wanna have some group rides, and no one comes to our group rides, so I'm just gonna try one more thing." And I went and looked around and noticed that, like, Brooklyn Center had this ride for 50 plus.

And I was like, "I'm gonna try a 50-plus ride.

I'm gonna call it the Joy Riders Community." I wrote my little grant.

A group home in Brooklyn Center is accused of billing the state for numerous services its residents didn't need or didn't receive.

The findings released last week stemmed from a state investigation that began two days after NPR News and APM Reports published an extensive report on the owner of the group home company.
