Bron Watson

Sep 16, 2026

16:50
a job.
16:50
It can be very hard.
16:51
Okay.
16:52
So I'm just going to give some context and some clarity about how and why I'm saying what I'm saying.
16:56
So when I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2017, I was diagnosed at about 1.30pm on a Thursday and I was on an operating table the following Wednesday.
17:07
Full mastermind, a lot of clients, online stuff, you name it, we're doing it, right? But my life was literally in my hands right then.
17:16
I didn't know it until it happened.

9 MINS LATER

26:25
As someone who's starting out, would you sort of preference paid, organic? How's that work in the mix?
17:01
We all
17:01
have different lessons to learn.
17:03
And I would say years.
17:06
And it's a forever ending thing, right? So to me, I'm on a path of healing.
17:11
So the way I liken my experiences now which is so filled with uncertainty the world is uncertain but my life is particularly uncertain in the fact that I have a health issue that can flip on a on a dime let's use an American term you flip on a coin and it's taken years from 2023 so I would say at least two to three years.
17:37
But that doesn't mean someone else is going, God, Bron, I don't want to do this for another two to three years.
17:43
You don't have to.

8 MINS LATER

25:50
We're all the projects, right? So I...
4:19
What was going through your mind about your business, your identity, and your future in those initial chaotic days? What was the internal glitch you had to face when you realized your physical body could no longer keep up with your professional identity?
4:37
It was so tough.
4:38
Anybody who's been through a major trauma or major event, adversity all comes in different shapes and sizes.
4:46
So at that time, so we were now second chemotherapy and I had shut that business, the mentoring down overnight, which took weeks because obviously we had lots of clients and lots of moving parts, for anyone who's in business knows that, and the business was the main source of income.
5:05
So what was going through my mind was literally, "How are we gonna get through this? How can we...
5:11
How am I going to get through this?" I didn't know how financially we were going to get through it, and, you know, we were meant to be building a house.
5:18
I mean, I, I couldn't even decide the color of a, for the paint, let alone a- anything.
10:15
In a corporate culture that often praises the 24/7 grind, why is the relentless model actually a liability when you are in the fight of your life?
5:11
weird so
5:13
yeah and the pause that is that is one of my key messages because adversity comes in all shapes and sizes my lane just happens to be two big gobsmacking wake-up calls with cancer we don't know how and why I do not give that energy Because I can't change the past.
5:33
I do not ruminate about the past and I do not project in the future.
5:37
And the way we do that is by the pause.
5:40
And the way I liken that is that when those waves of overwhelmed emotion, emotion comes in so many shapes and sizes, but when we name it, and this is where evidence tells us that when we name an emotion, It's like in our brains, you know, like if an emotion comes and hits us, you know, there's no space.
6:00
You cannot see.
6:02
But when you name that emotion, it pushes it back a little bit.

7 MINS LATER

13:04
What does it entail? So the Serenity Project
10:08
And now all of a sudden, presumably you weren't able to give to it anymore.
10:13
Yes, so after my second round of chemotherapy, so for those who have ever had breast cancer or know people who have been through breast cancer chemotherapy, it's pretty darn brutal.
10:24
I had had the chemotherapy on I think it was a Friday morning.
10:28
And I'm delivering a Facebook live.
10:30
So back in the day when we're doing Facebook lives for our clients in Facebook groups, back in the, when it was, that's the thing to do.
10:36
I delivered this live.
10:38
I have no idea what I said.

19 MINS LATER

29:11
We have to create those communities for ourselves these days often and find the people who can be the elder of the work that we want to do or that we need support with.
1:51
So what is the journey you went on to reach here?
1:57
Look, it's a very long convoluted one, but I'll trim it down as short as I can.
2:02
So going back, right? So I've actually had a dual career for decades.
2:10
Then it tells you how old I am.
2:11
But wisdom brings a lot of knowledge, just like I'd like to say.
2:16
And I've had a dual career in marketing and in nursing.
2:20
I'm actually a nurse educator.

7 MINS LATER

9:35
And these terms like organic marketing, performance marketing, CAC, what's your cost to acquiring customers is a lot of overwhelming, right? So where do they start actually?
2:50
So
2:52
no, I don't see them as separate, to be honest, for me.
2:55
So serenity, a moment in time is when you are letting things be.
3:05
So.
3:06
I feel that when you're in that space, there's so much power in the fact that you are so present for yourself.
3:17
Um, and you're letting be what is going on.
3:20
So in my case, for example, incurable blood cancer means I'm forever having blood tests.

9 MINS LATER

12:23
So how do you.
2:01
So what happened in your life that made you realize that capacity has to come first, that you can't just keep building, pushing, or scaling if the person underneath the business is running on empty?
2:14
It's such a great question, and one I feel people don't appreciate until they have to because it's, it's not till you can't, because you have no capacity, do you realize the importance of it.
2:30
So just some context there.
2:33
So yeah, Bron here in Australia, mom with five boys.
2:36
Started my first business called Nurse Power.
2:39
Had a most amazing mentor, love her to this day, she's still a very dear friend, and grew this business 'cause I've had a c-- dual career of, of both marketing and nursing.
2:50
So I was nursing education.

24 MINS LATER

26:54
...process that you guide them through to help them stop spinning and start finding some sense of serenity again?
