Well, if you were anywhere near Highway 1 from Abbotsford to Vancouver today, you may have seen a large convoy of dump trucks.

Drivers in that convoy hit the road today to protest the rising cost of diesel.

And as Taya Fast reports, they're looking for relief from the government.

Church, is there anything you'd like to say?

The 59-year-old who shielded his face with an umbrella as he entered the courthouse received an 18-month conditional discharge.

Courthord Church made a 911 call himself on March 1st of last year reporting an erratic driver speeding up the cut on Highway 1 in North Vancouver.

The Crown says a white Tesla was driving on the shoulder and trying to pass Church, who motioned for the driver to pull over.

Two people are dead after RCMP say a suspected impaired driver was going the wrong way on Highway 1 and collided with another vehicle early this morning.

The major artery was closed for more than 10 hours and created gridlock for the morning commute.

Do not take Highway 1 westbound if that is your normal morning commute.

It is closed westbound.

in the Burnaby Lake area because of an accident overnight, a very serious one.

You'll find all the alternate routes are very busy right now.

Lougheed's gotten a lot more busy as well.

We'll keep you posted on when that highway is going to reopen, but definitely do not use Highway 1 westbound through Burnaby this morning.

Now, let's talk BC politics.

dramatic dashcam video shows an impaired driver crashing into a barrier on Highway 1 through Langley early Saturday morning.

The video, filmed by a witness and shared by Langley RCMP, shows a Ford Ranger striking the cement divider and then spinning across the highway before coming to a stop on the side of the road.

Mounties arrived on scene to attend to the 23 year old driver from Kamloops.

I haven't driven that road a thousand times.

The Puritanville Road crossing on Highway 1.

It's $119.4 million for a four-lane crossing and about 1.6 kilometers of highway widening, finishing in 2031.

Construction started yesterday.

It's another piece of the $2.65 billion Fraser Valley Highway 1 program.

And it happened to start nine days before the Abbotsford Mission by-election.

Funny how that works.

Officials in Abbotsford are once again demanding the province clean up a homeless encampment at a park and ride on Highway 1.

As Taya Fast shows us, while there are few residents remaining, police say the problems are just as bad as ever.

For years, this has been a problem spot just off Highway 1 in Abbotsford.

Now local officials say enough is enough.

From rat-infested piles of garbage to burned-out vehicles and hazardous materials, officials are once again calling on the province to take immediate action and clean up the Whatcom encampment.

A Tesla moving down the road with the driver apparently asleep.

This time it happened during morning rush hour on Highway 1 near 248th Street in Langley.

One of our officers was on his way to another call and just couldn't let this go by.

Police say the driver denied he was asleep, but the officer's body-worn camera appears to show otherwise.
