There's internal tension at Ipswich City Council after councillors voted to allow the media team to assist individual councillors with drafting personal communications.

According to the Brisbane Times, Mayor Teresa Harding opposed the decision and has publicly argued that utilising council resources for individual councillor statements drains ratepayer funds without delivering public benefit.

However, supporting councillors have pushed back against the Mayor's stance, asserting that the policy update simply levels the playing field and ensures all elected members have a voice.

Moreton Bay council workers maintaining Centenary Lakes have been temporarily relocated to the Caboolture Depot following ongoing verbal abuse, threats and site hazards.

Yeah.

It's just they know that they're irrelevant now, right? Like, your podcast would probably pull in more views than what any one of fucking Paul's articles would get, right? Like, I was expecting after Paul, like, wrote that for the Sydney Morning Herald, The Age and all their other, like, branches, Brisbane Times, whatever...

I've railed against my old mate, Josh Frydenberg, who I've known since he had lots of hair.

I mean, seriously, we've got to stop spending money if we want to repay debt, I think.

Yeah, I mean, it does sound like, you know, I was reading about this in Brisbane Times this week in Shane Wright's article, and, you know, he talked about how it's actually, yeah, it's the global financial crisis, it's COVID, and it's all about baby boomers retiring and how we kind of get the economy to shift and deal with that sort of huge change that's happening.

So none of that is something that a government, well, I mean, obviously governments have some control over responses to that, but there's a lot that's out of a government's control.
