Brisbane Festival

Mm.

And also even, like, I don't know, I, I was just at a wedding up near there on the weekend, and some distant cousins basically were like, "You didn't do the festival this year, Brisbane Festival." I was like, "Yes, I did."

Oh, brutal.

And I thought, I know.

My colleagues and I were doing some photo and video work at different sites for the company that we work for up there.

And when I was there, a thing called the Brisbane Festival was on.

It was wrapping up.

It was the last night.

You might be familiar with her award-winning courtroom drama, Prima Facie.

She joins Life Matters fresh off the premiere of her new play at Brisbane Festival, Strong is the New Pretty, which was inspired by the formation of the AFLW.

Susie, welcome to Life Matters.

Oh, thank you, Bev.

And a lot of that is because they didn't have power, but they found a different way to assert power.

And my new play, Strong is the New Pretty, which is actually in rehearsal right now and about to open at the Brisbane Festival.

That play is really me talking about recognising that underground relay that's going on behind the scenes all the time.

All the women I know are running a leg of that relay constantly and passing the baton on one part of the relay to somebody else that they're having a laugh with or having a joke with, having a coffee with or having a cry with.

Go.

This Show is a Joke is playing Brisbane Festival.

That's right, BrisVegas, get ready.

We're there from the 20th to the 26th of September.
