Brindlewood Bay

Oh, that too.

Let me just, uh, let me just break out my copy of Brindlewood Bay-

[laughs]

... and let's just go ahead and play Murder She Wrote.

And so I was able to meet him and he's a great guy.

And I think he was going to he's actually going to we had kind of a weird you and I have played Brindlewood Bay and kind of had kind of had it was good, but not good in different ways.

And so he's run Brindlewood Bay a bunch.

And so he was he was offering to run Brindlewood Bay for me at some time soon.

So

I'm going to take him up on that.

It's almost

got like a Brindlewood Bay public access kind of feel.

Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.

And some of it is sort of introducing the concepts here.

But we have to reward that on both ends of that spectrum.

And it's interesting too, like there are certain systems that it's like impossible to do what we're talking about in like Brindlewood Bay is like a lot of the mystery games in that you actually, you come to the table without any sort of structure ending in mind and you all kind of create it together and your players in the moment act.

add things to the mystery and everything.

So there are certain games out there too.

And then I've got Dungeons and Dragons stuff.

I've got, what else do I have here? I have Brindlewood Bay.

I have Bubble Gumshoe.

I have Call of Cthulhu 7th Edition.

They never get to see that.

I kind of want to like, there's probably a way maybe you do it as like, you know, the Brindlewood Bay, the scene that the agents are in, but they narrate.

Yeah, the unseen scenes.

Maybe you do something like that because I really like or cold opens.

Aman has done a really good use of Carved from Brindlewood with this game, if you're not familiar.

But if you've ever played Brindlewood Bay, that's a similar game.

And I had been musing about a game to run.

I did pick a Brindlewood Bay scenario, so I'll be running one.

At the End of the World is the name of the scenario.

It actually comes from one of the fanzine submitted ones.

We have a gaming convention coming up in September, and I traditionally put two games in the gaming convention.

For the last several years, I've run an episode of Brindlewood Bay, which is a delightful, weird, cozy murder mystery with a little bit of Cthulhu mixed in.

The PCs, the player characters, are all essentially nosy little old grandmother types.

Think Murder, She Wrote.

Actually, I suppose the original is more of a rogue faction kind of game.

But very much built for that purpose.

And I think Brindlewood Bay... is also inspired by a number of these things.
