Fabulous.

And the Fringe, too.

That's a

plus.

I brought you all the way from Barcelona to the lovely place of Fringe.

Fringe.

I mean, it's a really fantastic place to be for artists and also people who appreciate art and comedy and live performance.

So this is my fourth one, my first time doing a full run.

So it was doing nothing for about nine months.

and being like shit we're doing the Brighton Fringe in May we need a show what are we going to do actually Adam was really really good at sketch writing because I didn't know anything about sketch writing when I joined I was just a performer because sketch is quite silly you don't have to be the best actor in the world if you go hard into a character it kind of works You know, ideally you're a really good actor because then you can add nuance and layers, but you don't need it for sketch comedy.

So Adam would just like churn out these sketches and that churning makes it sound like they were bad.

They were so good.

He's done a lot of sketch comedy.

He did a lot of fringe shows in Edinburgh Fringe.

improvisational shows that sort of stuff really really good laugh and talks about no rules barred if you're into the role playing scene the TTRPG scene you'll be very familiar no rules barred and yeah it's just a really fun chat

yeah no it is it's like we covered all of that you know you know how how he got into sketch comedy how he writes sketches uh talking about this new novel talking about the experience of doing these live shows at the fringe and elsewhere especially of blood in the clock tower and you know live theater without scripts and relying on improv and stuff like that and really you know the thing that marries these two podcasts that we do together is storytelling that's why What I keep pushing, especially with narrative damage, is to show that these games, you can tell great stories with them.

Thank you for joining us today and coming down to our studio while you're in Edinburgh for your Fringe run, of course, as well.

So we thought we'd take advantage of that.

Yes.

So we did it at Brighton Fringe last year and it was really successful.

We sold out the majority of the nights and we've actually had some exciting news.

I don't want to reveal just yet, but there's more to come in the future.

And even though I'd never done it before, I jumped right in.

I did an exchange with the Brighton Fringe.

I saw how that worked.

And then the theatre festival was commissioned, but the Fringe wasn't.

And it was fun.

And I thought, how can I do more of this kind of stuff? And at the time, the British Council...

said, oh, you know what? Why don't you come and go to the Brighton Fringe, the biggest fringe in the UK, go and learn what they do regarding programming, fundraising, da, da, da, da, da.

And I got there and I was like, wow.

We saw him once.

We saw him at the Brighton Fringe and I'd heard of him but I'd never seen him and he hadn't won Britain's Got Talent or anything yet.

We went and what was interesting about him was that he did an hour-long show And he didn't say anything for half an hour.

It was all visual.
