Brian Sims

We're gonna laugh, argue, question, and hopefully make a little more sense of this very strange, very serious, very theatrical moment in American life.

To give you an idea of exactly what I'm talking about in terms of different kinds of insights, different perspectives, you know, right off the bat as our first guest we're going to have my longtime friend and someone who I admire so much, not just for being a effective legislator, but also being an LGBTQ trailblazer, and then in private practice, you know, as being a private citizen, he's still making an enormous difference, uh, Brian Sims.

Having been from a swing state, Pennsylvania, you know, which is sort of the epicenter, if you think about it, even in this upcoming midterms it's playing a crucial role, getting his, his insights, um, on the ground, you know, as a, as a former elected official, as a fighter, you know, uh, as a lawyer, um, as a private citizen, you know, getting his insights.

And then, you know, one that you might not necessarily expect from someone like my friend Oliver Ryan, who's a Labour MP in the UK, member of Parliament.

He is a big deal for me and for so many.

His name is Brian Sims.

He's an LGBTQIA advocate, trailblazer, change maker.

He's a politician.

Like, rate, and subscribe, if you will.

But yes, let's keep it light today.

We've had some heavy episodes lately, and we do get into some politics here, obviously, with Brian Sims.

We can't avoid it.

So again, two guys on the defensive side of the ball that are really picking up the pace, and I'm hoping it's bringing the rest of the defense up with them.

Uh, it's definitely being noticed by edge rusher Brian Sims.

Um- Coming into this season, they were looking obviously at a new defense with Coach Woody coming in.

We've talked about that extensively on this show with Coach Woody.

The 3-3-5 that UC used to run with the three-man rush, basically there was no pass rush.

And I wanna credit, um, Dan Hord for being able to ask this to Brian Sims, talking about the pressure and what to expect.

And, uh, Brian's response, and I quote, was, uh, "The offense has to worry every play because something's coming.

It's never just a three-man rush like we saw last season." So again, we're in a 3-4 defense, and they're going to be bringing one of the linebackers, one of the cap positions, you know those extra positions that are now are created with the 3-4, that's gonna bring Antoine Peak down to that role.
